Time and Money Savers Around the HouseWho doesn’t love to find ways to save time and money? After all, the more time and money we have to enjoy life the better. We look for ways to free up our time and get the best out of living possible. And why not? If we can at least find ways to make routine tasks and drudgery less taxing, we’ve done ourselves and others a great service. That takes us to the use of time and money savers around the house.

Household chores can sometimes be the most time constrictive part of our lives. They can also involve some of the most inefficient use of money. How so, you may ask? Although we often try various cleaning products, we only find a few that stand up to their claims. We may try several brands before we find something that works. Finally, when we find what works, we stick to it like glue. Although, even the cleaning products on the store shelf that actually work have their own downsides. Number one, they often aren’t cheap. Number two, they often contain harsh chemicals.

Well, here’s a great idea. How about freeing up your time, your money and well being too?!

Well Being, Time and Money Savers Around the House

There’s something to be said for going green these days. Even those not entirely on board with the idea must admit some green ways make perfect sense. Especially if they amount to saving time, money and well being, they get our vote. One of the best ways to do that with household tasks comes down to something beautifully simple and proven. The homemade solution.

What if I can make time and money savers around the house? What if I can make my own all-purpose cleaner that really works, with common ingredients already found on my shelf? If it really works as good or better than the comparable store-bought, I’ve found myself a small treasure. Since it will save me time (if it’s easy to make) and fewer trips to the store, since it will save me money, since it can consist of natural ingredients, what’s not to like, right?!

All-Purpose Well Being, Time and Money Savers Around the House

If you just have water and white vinegar, that’ll do as a great start. You have your all-natural, all-purpose cleaner, and replenishing your water and vinegar costs you pennies. Use 9 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Watch your counter tops, floors and windows sparkle. If you want an added disinfectant punch, follow up with hydrogen peroxide. That’s right the 3% you can buy at any store for pennies.  (Use it separately only. It combines adversely with vinegar.) Want a great smell? Just add about 5 drops of your favorite essential oil to the water/vinegar mix!

Another quite efficient all-purpose cleaner calls for white vinegar and vodka. For a more sudsy consistency, it calls for liquid castile soap and washing soda (not baking soda). For an added anti-bacterial punch, it calls for tea tree oil. Use 4 parts vinegar to 1 part vodka and 1 part washing soda. Just around 3 drops of liquid soap and 3 or 4 drops of tea tree oil should complete the solution nicely. Add several drops of your favorite essential oil for a great odor.

A couple of things to remember about this solution: for the soap and soda to blend well, you must boil the vinegar first. Then add the vodka, and other ingredients.
