Living in Arlington Heights

Arlington Heights is a historic district in central Fort Worth, set within the triangle formed by Camp Bowie Boulevard, I-30 and Montgomery Street, just west of the Fort Worth Cultural District. The neighborhood dates back to before World War I, when it was platted with a boulevard leading toward downtown; development picked up after the nearby Camp Bowie military base was built and later closed, leaving utilities already in place for home construction. Camp Bowie Boulevard, known for its brick-paved roadway, runs through the neighborhood and is lined with shops, restaurants and everyday services, and downtown Fort Worth is about four miles away, making Arlington Heights one of the more walkable parts of the city. Nearby parks include Trinity Park, Marshall Sanguinet Park and Lake Como Park, and the adjacent Cultural District is home to the Kimbell Art Museum, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History, Will Rogers Memorial Center and Dickies Arena. The neighboring districts of Hillcrest Addition, Sunset Heights, South Hi Mount, Thomas Place and the Westside Cultural District share similar origins and are often grouped in with Arlington Heights. Families here are zoned to Fort Worth ISD, served by South Hi Mount Elementary School, Stripling Middle School and Arlington Heights High School.
